GISELLE MAYER
DVM
Associate Veterinarian & Co-Owner
Dr. Mayer, a Miami native with an unwavering love for animals, started her journey by rescuing injured turtles and caring for classroom pets, all under the guidance of an encouraging elementary school teacher. This passion led her to attain a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida International University before embarking on her veterinary career in California.
With a solid foundation as a registered veterinary technician and armed with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2011, Dr. Mayer has been at the forefront of veterinary medicine in the South Bay. With special interests in surgery, dentistry and radiology, she thrives on the dynamic challenges of the ever-evolving field.
Beyond the stethoscope, Dr. Mayer is not just your typical veterinary professional—she's an avid tennis player, hiking enthusiast, and a globetrotter who has explored diverse countries. In rare quiet moments, she curls up with a good novel, seeking a brief escape from the exciting world of pet care.
Residing in Rancho Palos Verdes with her family—husband Eddy, kids Jacob and Layla, and loyal dog Rusty—Dr. Mayer extends her passion for animal care to co-owning Pacific Coast Animal Hospital, her new venture committed to cutting-edge veterinary care. Additionally, she owns Peninsula Center Pet Hospital in Rolling Hills Estates, standing as a testament to Dr. Mayer's dedication to providing top-notch veterinary care in their respective communities.
